Lo primero que queremos es desearos a todos unas felices fiestas, que las paséis rodeados de la gente que os importa.
Y ahora os cuento que tengo varias cositas para enseñaros. Ya que ha llegado la navidad, (afortunadamente) estoy de vacaciones y (desafortunadamente) todas mis frikiseries están paradas (bueno, esta misma noche veré el especial de Dr Who de Navidad, claro snif snif), pues he tenido tiempo de crochetear como hacía tiempo que no lo hacía.
Lo primero que os quiero enseñar es este Piolín que le he regalado a mi madre por navidad. Hacía tiempo que quería hacerlo, pero entre todos los ovillos de lana amarilla que tengo no había ni uno solo que acabara de acertar el color. Pero el otro día pasé por un chino donde por fin vi un amarillo que más o menos me convencía. En la foto podéis ver el resultado.

First things first. We want to wish you happy Christmas, and we hope you spend your time with your love ones.
And now, I want to share with you a lot of things I’ve been crocheting lately. Since I have holydays at work and all my favorite TV shows are on hold, I’ve had a lot of time to crochet as I haven’t done for a long time.
The first amigurumi I’ll show you is this Tweety I’ve crocheted as a Christmas present for my mom. I saw the pattern a long time ago, but between all yellow yarns I had, I didn’t have one I liked for it. Last week I found a correct yellow in a store and knew it was the time. You can see in the result in the picture above.
The pattern I used is in Spanish, and I don’t know if there’s a pattern in English. Sorry! You can find it here, and I can help you translate it if you want.

El otro día os enseñé mi segundo amigurumi, hoy he decidido enseñaros el primero, el amigurumi con el que empezó todo. Hace exactamente un año decidí tejerle un amigurumi al hijo de mi prima (que había nacido hacía pocos meses), y después de mucho buscar, este dinosaurio fue mi elección.

En breve va a cumplirse un año desde mi boda (sí, un año ya, que rápido pasa el tiempo, leñe) y ya hace tiempo que escucho a mi alrededor: “¿Y los niños para cuando?”
Los que me conocéis ya sabéis la respuesta a esa pregunta: “No hay ninguna prisa”. No es que no queramos tener, es que de momento mi vida me gusta tal como es, sin necesidad de preocuparme las 24h del día por una personita que depende 100% de mi.
Pero entiendo que la gente nos interrogue, sobre todo porque tenemos ya una edad y estamos rodeados de embarazadas y nuevos babies.
¿Y por qué os cuento todo este rollo? Pues para enseñaros otros de los regalos para nuevos bebes que he hecho para un compañera de trabajo.

Next week it’s gonna be my first wedding anniversary (I can’t believe time goes by so fast) and it’s been a while everyone is asking me: “Where are you having a baby?”
Those who know me already know the answer: “There’s no hurry”. It’s not that we don’t want babies, the thing is that, right know, we like our live as it is and we don’t have the need to be preoccupied 24h for a little person that totally depends on you.
But I can understand why people is asking, because we are grownups and we are surrounded by pregnant fiends and new babies.

Si hay alguien que se va a beneficiar de mi afición por los amigurumies es mi tocaya preferida y sobrina de una de mis mejores amigas. Patrón que veo que me gustaría hacer y no sé a quién regalar, va adjudicado automáticamente para ella.
Su tía me pidió que le hiciese a miniNaomi un Stitch de la película Lilo & Stitch, pero no hay forma de encontrar el azul exacto (maloserá que no lo encuentre, que hasta tengo a una amiga de Galicia al acecho del susodicho color). Así que cuando vi un unicornio que me enamoró me decidí a hacérselo, pero no encontré el patrón, así que hice mi propio patrón más o menos del mismo estilo del que me había gustado. He aquí el resultado:

Las bolas son a los amigurumies lo que los vaqueros a la ropa, un básico.
Hacer una siguiendo un patrón es muy fácil, sólo hay que seguir las indicaciones (obvio), pero ¿qué pasa cuando queremos hacerla de otro tamaño? Pues también es muy fácil, y si aún no sabéis cómo para eso es este post.
Para hacer una bola perfecta sólo hay que hacer, entre las vueltas con aumentos y las vueltas con disminución, tantas vueltas como el número de vueltas que hayamos aumentado, pongo un ejemplo que la explicación parece una trabalenguas:
Para hacer una bola cuyo ancho máximo sean 30 puntos seguiremos este patrón:
Vuelta 1: Anillo mágico de 6 puntos (6)
Vuelta 2: Un aumento en cada punto (12)
Vuelta 3: Un punto, un aumento [repetir hasta final de vuelta] (18)
Vuelta 4: Dos puntos, un aumento [repetir hasta final de vuelta] (24)
Vuelta 5: Tres puntos, un aumento [repetir hasta final de vuelta] (30)
Vueltas 6 a 10: Un punto en cada punto de la vuelta anterior (30)

Con este sistema nos saldrá una bola proporcionada y del tamaño que queramos.
Hace unas semanas me dio por hacer varios animales cuya base principal es una única bola. Son fáciles de hacer y fantásticos para ponerles una anilla y utilizarlos como llavero, he aquí una muestra:
El patrón de las orejas y la cola del cerdito (junto con otros animales) lo podéis encontrar aquí (en inglés).
Con una bola como base se pueden hacer multitud de amigurumies, si aún no se tiene destreza para sacar el patrón de los detalles de lo que se quiere hacer y no lo encontramos por ningún lado, basta con un poco de fieltro para hacerlos (el fieltro es vuestro amigo, no lo olvidéis, os salvará de algún que otro apuro crochetil).

To make a ball
following a pattern is really ease, you just have to follow the instructions
(obviously), but, what happens when you want a ball with other size? It’s also
very easy and if you don’t know how to do it, that’s the purpose of this post.
In order to make a perfect ball you just have to do, between the rounds with increases and decreases, the same number of rounds you increased. This explanation seams a tongue-twister, I know. Let me put an example.
To make a ball with a circumference of 30 points you have to follow this pattern:

If you take a close look at the pattern, we increase for five rounds and then we do five rounds even before start decreasing.

Following this system you’ll always get a proportioned ball the size you want.
Few weeks ago I had the fever to do some ball-animals. They’re really easy to do and great to use as keychain. You can see the pictures of the little pig above. The pattern for the ears and tail can be found here.
Using a ball as a base you can do a lot of amigurumis. If you can’t find a pattern for the details and you still don’t have the skills to do it by yourself, you can always use a bit of felt to do them (you know, felt is your friend, don’t forget this, it could save you from some tight spots)
